thank you so muhh for your suggestions.
I was in pain managment for ten yrs., Heavy narcotics! My problem was solved with a full shoulder replacement! OUCH!!!! It was the MOST PAINFUL surgery that exsist on earth, they couldnt give me enough pain meds in the hospital, and of course I have almost total tolerance to all they could with in there legal for in hospital stay, I can take ten percocet double strength on top of 80mil of oxycotin along with a couple other pills. I'm not proud of that fact what so ever, just so you can gauge where I'm at! I'm 53yrs old, on top of that I'm a top name hairdresser in PHX,AZ.
Ive had back fusion, three knee surgeries, three hemeroid surgeries, approx 20 R. shoulder dislocates, Not to mention all the little breaks-knee-elbow-foot. Well thats what I get For loving extreme sports, In ie. skydiving paragliding, ultra light flying and crashing, snow &watersking, paintball, and of coures a couple of illegal activies of which I shall not bring to light.
I'm having a hard time refreshing my mind, cleaning it out to feel like I did 20yrs ago, I know its possible to return to that joy, with faith in God, excersize, and last but as important-correct eating and Juicing. I bought a CHAMPION JIUCER 18yrs ago. I belive that 4-5 yrs of doing the good jiuce that long ago kept me young looking at minus ten yrs easy, but its catching up fast. My CHAMPION is in perfect cond.
I'm having great difficulty transioning from SUBUTEX to sobriaty, cant make it past 4-5-6 days without feeling like I'm walking upstream agianst spring melt comming from the ROCKY MNTS. If you have any super special Idea's on juicing for this rough time. I'm off the heavy narcotics for three months, head feels much better, spelling still sucks and allways will. Please drop an email at www.charlesbrennenstudioone@cox.net,,thank you-CHAS

If you're new to juicing, I'd recommend that you start with a juice a day. I like juices in the morning, just after a glass of fresh spring water. One easy way to start is to try straight cucumber juice every morning to get your metabolism going. Then, later, when you've become used to taking any of these juices I suggest that you consult with a nutritionist or your doctor to look into a full juice diet for some period of time. Your diet will depend upon what you goals you are trying to meet, so I suggest that you work with a health care professional for a more aggressive juicing program.

Yes, the sugar is sometimes the cause of many a crash or relapse in early recovery. Lucky you...Ben and Jerry's! That's a step up from the lollipops and Jolly Ranchers they were handing out in treatment. The orange juices are a good quick fix for sugar. Some of the stronger detox combinations include acidic fruits and oils, to flush the internal organs. I recommend the green drinks, though ... for alcohol or sugar addicts. It helps reduce cravings, I've found.

Great article. The physical problems associated with chemical addictions are often overlooked in favor of the spiritual/mental. A quicker physical recovery can facilitate overal recovery. I would like to point out that Alcohol in particular is one of the more physically addicting, and dmaging drugs. In fact, a major component of the physical addiction is to the sugar which results from liver oxidation. Cravings can be significantly reduced by adding this sugar back into the diet of the alcohol free individual. All your body knows is that when you put the bottle to your lips, It gets more sugar, and it will ask for it once its gone. Any of the recipes above which contain oranges, which are very high in sugar, will certainly work wonders for a recovering alcoholic. Certainly healthier than the Ben and Jerrys Ice cream I used.

Please know that not everyone who consumes lots of alcohol or drugs at one point in their lives is an addict. Addiction is characterized by a mental and physical compulsion to continue the addictive behavior. Addicts in recovery can benefit from these detoxifying juices, for sure.

You're welcome Monique. As a former barista at a juice bar, I have huge respect for juices and their effects on the body. I'd suggest medical supervision for the more extreme juices with cleanses...as it's good to watch blood pressure, sugar levels, etc. during a cleanse. Not included is the "Master Cleanse" which is and excellent way to expel phlegm from the body.
