I'm thinking that for most addicted persons, having help through using a med would be a welcome tool as part of the full program to sobriety. The rate of failure/relapse is very high, so another means to sobriety should at least be tryed before disgarding as another way to stay intoxicated. If the meds offer hope of sobriety sooner than later, they should have a place in the tool box of the addicted and their program.
