Andreas, I wish you the best. Although I think that red reishi mushrooms are a good supplement, you may need a doctor's help in stopping smoking. I've been told that nicotine addiction is one of the hardest chemical dependencies to break.

I am 33 & have been smoking daily since i was 16. Over the years i gave up for 1 year only but started again (stupidly). Had a bit of a rough time through teens. When i was 23 had an ectopic pregnancy which resulted in losing the baby and 1 of my tubes. from there I found out I wouldn't be able to have children naturally, smoking has put these things to the back of my mind which was great short term but long term i have ran away and never faced up to these things.

I've heard that reishi actually has some effect on the strength of cravings themselves. As in reishi can lessen your cravings for pretty much anything all the while replenishing anything that was damaged due to the addiction. I'd venture to say that reishi mushroom can be a major benefit to anyone with addictions past or present. For its restorative properties and its ability to keep one level headed. It's energy effects are subtle, but very wholesome. Like a kind of energy that comes from within rather than from just a racing heart.

Thanks, Cole. :) Sunflower seeds seem like they WOULD keep you busy. Will recommend to husband who is trying to get ready to maybe stop smoking.

I applaud your efforts! I always liked the idea that you can save your face or you can save your butt. Kudos to getting back on the horse and trying again! I offer you continued support.

I quit smoking cigarettes in April of last year and one of the things that helped me most was chewing sunflower seeds. I don't know if salty sunflower seeds are extremely healthy but they are a lot better than cigarettes! That's my only experience so far. I hope it helps somebody.
